Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the extension of its Backup support for Amazon S3 to four additional regions. These regions are in the Asia Pacific (Hyderabad, Melbourne) and Europe (Spain, Zurich).
AWS Backup is a fully managed, policy-based solution that provides a cost-effective method for centralized and automated data protection. It supports Amazon S3 as well as other AWS services, which span compute, storage, and databases, along with third-party applications. When used in conjunction with AWS Organizations, AWS Backup allows for the centralized deployment of policies that manage and govern data protection activities.
With this recent expansion, AWS Backup support for Amazon S3 is now available in multiple regions globally. These include the US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (N. California, Oregon), Canada (Central), multiple European regions, the Asia Pacific, Middle East (Bahrain, UAE), Africa (Cape Town), and AWS GovCloud (US-East, US-West).
